The Bao – A Decade of Tradition and Modernity in the East Village

For over ten years, The Bao has been a staple in New York’s East Village, serving up a unique blend of traditional Chinese flavors with a modern twist. Throughout this time, the restaurant has maintained a signature aesthetic, with beige and red as its core brand colors, reflecting the warmth and vibrancy of Chinese culture.

As part of our rebranding journey, we sought to balance the rich heritage of our roots with the energy of contemporary design. We introduced brighter accents to create a more dynamic and inviting atmosphere while still embracing vintage elements that evoke a sense of nostalgia. The result is a space that feels both timeless and fresh—a fusion of tradition and modernity that mirrors the essence of our cuisine.

At The Bao, we are committed to offering a dining experience that not only delights the senses but also tells a story of how the past and present can come together in perfect harmony.
